What is the Daily Office?
Each one is a single short arc through the Church's five voices — what she believes (Creed), confesses before God (Law & Scripture), understands (Catechism), prays, and sings — a miniature service rather than five loose quotations. The closing song keys it to the hour: mornings rise with the Church's songs of waking praise (the Te Deum, Zechariah's Benedictus); evenings close with her songs of a finished day and peace (Mary's Magnificat, Simeon's Nunc Dimittis). It renews morning and evening.
